Plain-English summary
- Jude collects nothing about you.
- There are no accounts, no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporters, no servers.
- The app makes a single network call: when you tap the "See other apps" button, your default browser opens the Pica Apps website. The browser, not Jude, makes that request.
- All anecdotes shown on hover or tap are hardcoded in the app's source code. There is no AI, no learning, no personalisation, and no record of which lines you've seen.
Data we receive about you: none. The app reads no system resource — no file system, microphone, camera, clipboard, network — except as needed to draw its menu-bar icon and popover.
Geographic scope
Jude the Dog is available only in App Store regions where we have published it. See the app's App Store listing for the current list of supported countries. We do not offer the app in the European Economic Area, and this policy is not designed to satisfy the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
Because Jude collects no personal data of any kind (see Section 3), the UK GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection have no practical application to the app — there is no controller-processor relationship to discuss. UK and Swiss users are nonetheless welcome to use the app.
This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Israel.
What we collect
What we do not collect
We do not collect, transmit, or have any access to:
- Your name, photo, email, or any contact detail
- Your precise or coarse location
- Your IDFA (Apple's Identifier for Advertisers) or any device identifier
- Crash reports
- Feature-usage analytics
- Which anecdotes you've seen
- How long you've used the app
- Whether you've used the app at all
What we collect if you opt in
Nothing. There is no opt-in telemetry path. We never plan to add one for Jude the Dog. If we change our mind, this section will be rewritten before the change ships.
What Apple knows
The app is distributed through the Mac App Store. Apple, not us, sees your download and any App Store interactions (rating the app, leaving a review, deleting it). Apple's handling of that data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We receive no information about you from Apple beyond aggregated, anonymous download counts.
"See other apps" button
The popover contains a single button that opens https://picaapps.com in your default browser. The app calls NSWorkspace.shared.open(URL), which hands the URL to macOS's LaunchServices. From that point onward your browser handles the request, and any data sent (your IP address, user-agent, etc.) is between your browser and the Pica Apps website's host. The Jude the Dog process makes no network call itself.
Children
Jude the Dog is rated 4+ in the Mac App Store and is suitable for general audiences. Because the app collects nothing about anyone, we cannot inadvertently collect data from children.
Your choices
- Quit the app at any time from its menu-bar item.
- Delete the app to remove it from your Mac. Because the app stores no data on disk other than a single "show Jude" boolean in user defaults, deleting the app removes everything.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we'll update the "Effective" date at the top and, where practical, notify you inside the app on next launch. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
